노혜리 개인전 Hyeree Ro solo exhibition 《August is the cruelest》2025.4.2. – 5.10.

[플레이뉴스 문성식기자] 두산아트센터 두산갤러리는 현재 뉴욕과 서울을 중심으로 활동하고 있는 노혜리의 개인전 《August is the cruelest》를 2025년 4월 2일(수)부터 5월 10일(토)까지 개최한다. 

 

사물과 몸을 매개로 한 작업을 전개하는 노혜리는 이번 전시에서 여름, 이동, 여정, 이별과 상실에 관한 기억을 펼쳐 낸다. 작가의 아버지가 몰던 자동차를 본떠 만든 〈니로〉(2024)를 중심으로 누울 수 없는 텐트, 항해할 수 없는 카약 등, 노혜리와 아버지, 두 사람의 이야기를 토대로 삼는 8점의 작품과 퍼포먼스 1회를 선보인다. 

 

노혜리(b.1987)는 카날 프로젝트(2024, 뉴욕, 미국)과 프로젝트 스페이스 사루비아(2022, 서울), 갤러리777(2017, 양주)에서 개인전을 개최했으며, 수림큐브(2024, 서울), 빌리타운(2024, 헤이그, 네덜란드), AHL 파운데이션 갤러리(2024, 뉴욕, 미국), 리움미술관(2022, 서울), 일민미술관(2019, 서울), 하이트컬렉션(2017, 서울), 아키요시다이 국제예술촌(2017, 미네, 일본) 등 국내외 여러 단체전에 참여하였다. 《두산아트랩 전시 2017》(2017, 두산아트센터 두산갤러리, 서울)에 선정되었다.

 

 

DOOSAN Art Center DOOSAN Gallery is pleased to present Hyeree Ro‘s solo exhibition, August is the cruelest, from April 2nd (Wed.) to May 10th (Sat.).

 

Ro, an artist working with sculptural objects and multi-lingual fractured narrative-based performance, unravels memories of summer, traveling and drifting, partings, and loss in this exhibition. Alongside Niro (2024), the sculptural piece modeled after her father's car "Niro," Ro presents eight artworks and one performance drawn from the memories with her father, including a tent where no one can lie down and a kayak that no one can sail.

 

Hyeree Ro (b.1987) presented solo exhibitions at Canal projects (2024, New York, US), project space SARUBIA (2022, Seoul, KR), gallery777 (2017, Yangju, KR). Her works has been exhibited internationally including, Soorim Cube (2024, Seoul, KR), Billytown (2024, The Hague, NL), AHL Foundation Gallery (2024, New York, US), Leeum Museum of Art (2022, Seoul, KR), Ilmin Museum of Art (2019, Seoul, KR), and Akiyoshidai International Art Village (2017, Mine, JP). In 2017, She had participated in DOOSAN ART LAB Exhibition 2017 (2017, DOOSAN Art Center DOOSAN Gallery, Seoul, KR).

A performance and a screening will be held during the exhibition on a different schedule. Details and schedules will be informed on the website and SNS.

 

* 오프닝 리셉션은 오후 5시부터 7시까지 진행될 예정이며, 관람은 오전 11시부터 가능합니다.

The opening reception will be held from 5 to 7pm, and viewing will be available from 11am.
